Buy Fire Retardant Plywood Coated With Flame Retardant Resin (Birch) from Alvi-Bel
Fire-retardant plywood with a fire-retardant resin coating is specially designed to enhance fire safety while maintaining the structural integrity and performance of the plywood. This specialized plywood is treated with a fire-retardant resin, significantly improving its fire resistance, making it an ideal choice for environments where strict fire safety regulations are required. Whether it’s a commercial building, industrial applications, or other critical environments, this plywood offers increased protection against flame spread and helps meet fire safety standards.
Manufacturing Features
The production of fire-retardant plywood with a fire-retardant resin coating involves a multi-step process to ensure maximum fire resistance. Initially, high-quality plywood is produced from durable veneers bonded with phenol-formaldehyde adhesive, known for its excellent strength and moisture resistance. After the plywood is manufactured, it is coated with a fire-retardant resin that penetrates the wood fibers, creating a protective barrier against fire. This resin treatment is designed to reduce flammability, slow the spread of flames, and minimize smoke production, enhancing the overall safety of the plywood.
Key Characteristics
- Fire Resistance: The plywood is treated with a high-performance fire-retardant resin that significantly reduces the risk of flame spread and ensures compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Durability: Designed to withstand harsh conditions, our plywood maintains its strength and form even under intense heat, providing long-lasting performance.
- Low Smoke Emission: Reduces smoke production in the event of a fire, adding an extra layer of safety in enclosed spaces.
- Eco-Friendly: The fire-retardant resin used is free from hazardous chemicals, making the plywood safer for both users and the environment.

Surface Types
The fire-retardant plywood is available in a variety of surface finishes to meet the specific requirements of different applications:
- Unfinished (NS): Ideal for further processing or applications where a rough texture is acceptable.
- Sanded on Both Sides (S2): Provides a smooth, polished finish.
- Protective Coatings: Available with resin-based protective coatings, High-Pressure Laminate (HPL), fiberglass, or Continuous Pressure Laminate (CPL). Protective coatings enhance the plywood’s durability, fire resistance, and wear resistance, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Areas of Application
This versatile fire-retardant plywood is suitable for a wide range of applications, including:
- Interior Wall Paneling: Ideal for use in public buildings, offices, and residential homes where fire safety is crucial.
- Ceilings: Provides a safe and aesthetic solution for ceilings in commercial and industrial environments.
- Floor Underlayment: Offers increased fire safety for floors in high-traffic areas such as shopping malls, airports, and schools.
- Roof Coverings: Offers fire resistance and durability, making it ideal for roofing systems in various climates.
- Furniture Manufacturing: A safe and reliable choice for creating fire-resistant furniture in commercial and residential spaces.
- Partitions: Perfect for creating fire-resistant barriers in offices, hotels, and other public buildings.
Available Grades
To meet different quality and aesthetic requirements, our fire-retardant plywood is available in the following grades:
- B/BB: High-quality surface suitable for visible applications, offering a smooth finish on the front and a solid back.
- BB/BB: Both sides offer uniform, high-quality surfaces, ideal for applications where both sides will be visible.
- BB/CP: Combines good surface quality with a standard back, balancing cost and appearance.
- BB/C: Good surface quality with a standard back, suitable for hidden structural applications.
- CP/CP: Standard grade on both sides, suitable for applications where aesthetics are less critical.
- CP/C: Standard surface with a lower-grade back, ideal for structural applications where one side is hidden.
- C/C: Both sides are of standard grade, perfect for internal structures and hidden components.
Each grade reflects the quality of the veneer and the overall appearance of the plywood. Higher grades, such as B/B and B/BB, offer better surface quality and finish, while lower grades, like C/C, are more cost-effective and suitable for applications where appearance is less critical.
Adhesive
In the production of our fire-retardant plywood with a fire-retardant resin coating, we use phenol-formaldehyde adhesive. This adhesive is known for its strong bonding properties and moisture resistance, contributing to the overall durability and fire resistance of the plywood. The use of phenol-formaldehyde adhesive ensures that the plywood retains its structural integrity and performance, even under challenging conditions, while the fire-retardant resin treatment provides additional fire protection.
Formaldehyde Emission and Moisture Content
Our fire-retardant plywood has a low formaldehyde emission level of 0.1-0.3 mg/m² h, well below the allowable standard of 3.5 mg/m² h. This low emission ensures that the plywood is safe for indoor environments and meets strict health and environmental standards. The moisture content of the plywood ranges from 5-12%, helping to maintain stability and prevent distortion in varying humidity conditions.
Package Weight
The weight of one package of our fire-retardant plywood with a fire-retardant resin coating ranges from 600 to 1400 kg, depending on the thickness and size of the sheets. This weight range makes handling and transportation easier, ensuring that the plywood can be easily adapted to different project sizes and logistical needs while maintaining its fire-resistant properties.

Photos show the approximate appearance of the plywood. Plywood sheets may differ from the pictures in terms of acceptable defects. Each grade has its own acceptable defects, check with your manager for details.
Grade B/B, B/BB plywood is used for furniture and interior and exterior decoration. If sheet appearance and maximum strength are crucial for your purposes, it is best to choose B grade, which also has the strictest technical control when it comes to production. Only minor defects are allowed.
Class BB/BB, BB/CP is mainly used as a base for floors or as various furniture components, as well as a base for laminated plywood.
CP grade is ideal for projects where appearance is not paramount or those that are invisible. It is used for packaging materials or flooring underlay. The incidence of noticeable defects is higher compared to better grades.
Class C is reserved for products whose appearance is of no importance. There may be a few visually noticeable flaws. Nevertheless, we guarantee that the veneers are properly glued together. It is suitable for use as packaging because despite the low grade, the plywood is still waterproof and durable.
